In 2014 (LPP phase 1), a 30 MW gas turbine was installed to drive the export compressor (pre-compressor 27KZ7001) on Kvitebjørn, this to reduce the inlet pressure from the original 120 to a minimum of 38 barg.

The Sleipner area embraces the gas and condensate fields Sleipner Øst, Gungne and Sleipner Vest. Sleipner Vest is a field in the central part of the North Sea infrastructure and was discovered in 1974.

Kvitebjørn today has the same design for bundles in the re-compressor train as at start-up. Since production has declined and the field has entered a low-pressure production phase, the re-compressor train is currently operated with anti-surge valves with a significant opening.

Production on Statfjord East started in 1994 , including Water Injection. Production pressure has been decreasing since WI stopped in 2008. ​4-5 new wells is to be drilled, and gas lift is needed to aid the production.​ Production start-up is planned for 2024. ​​

Equinor has established a strategic project for reducing CO₂ on the Norwegian shelf.

Utilizing our sustainability toolbox, Moreld has identified measures to reduce Scope 1 and 2 emissions for our clients by more than 1 million tones CO₂/year.​

Moreld Apply, together with several other Moreld entities, have been onboard from the initiation of the project working very well across Equinor delivery units to find a good and sound industrial solution to lower the CO₂ emission and cost.

85% of offshore CO₂ emissions on NCS come from gas turbines in operation and the heat generated from the gas turbines can be used to create and recover energy. This study will investigate the use of a bottom cycle facility on the Statfjord C, which opens the possibility of implementing steam turbines.
