The gas production is currently insufficient to fully support the power generators, which are now fuelled by gas and diesel. The existing diesel storage tanks are 219 m3, and with drilling operations running, frequent refuelling from a supply boat is required.

APPLY carried out feasibility of utilising the modified Songa Trym semi submersible drilling rig as a TSV for Osebeg Øst drilling operations. As a continuation, FEED followed by detail engineering was carried out to further detail the technical solution, project execution and cost estimation.

Scope of Work:

The scope covered the following points for the identified parts of the modifications:

• Structural modification to columns
• Fairleads and winches
• Base oil, diesel supply systems
• Hose balcony and piping connections
• Stair tower and telescopic bridge systems
• Cuttings and slop handling systems
• Removal of derrick and supporting systems
• Fire and gas and control systems

FEED defined the key success criterion, identified risks and gave recommendation along with standard FEED deliverables. Detail engineering defined the technical specification for procurement packages and follow up of testing, commissioning, operations procedures.
